AREA REPRESENTATIVES NEEDED FOR AREA 1, AREA 4, AND AREA 6

A conservancy district should have a representative for each of the areas within it.  Area 1 has been vacant for many years, and areas 4 and 6 more recently.  To apply please contact operations manager Kathy Clark by calling her at 574-400-5450.  Please be sure to leave a message, including your phone number, if you call.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the Board of Directors for South-West Lake Max Conservancy District all that you need to do is request a one page petition and get five of your neighbors to sign that they would like you to represent them in all of the conservancy district business.  The Board meets just four times per year so it is not a burden.  Serving as a representative on one of your local “utilities” would be great!  Call today. Petitions (its actually just one sheet of paper) need to be returned to Ms. Clark, SWLMCD, P.O. Box 56, Culver, IN 46511 before December 1 of 2020.  CALL TODAY!

CARING FOR YOUR PUMP!

USING THE SYSTEM – To avoid blockages and damage to the pump, the following items should NOT be placed into the system:

Glass, metal, gravel, sand, coffee grinds, seafood shells, socks, rags or cloths, plastic sanitary napkins or tampons, disposable diapers, kitty litter, explosives, flammable materials, lubricating oil, grease, cooking oil, paint, strong chemicals, gasoline or diesel, stormwater runoff.

WHEN YOU LEAVE FOR THE WINTER or go away for a month or more, the District advises you to run two full bathtubs of clean water through your system.  This will ensure that there is no waste laying in your line to create a build up of H2S, or Hydrogen Sulfide, in the sewer lines.

Don’t forget to keep your control box locked to prohibit tampering.

IF YOU ARE TAKING DOWN YOUR HOUSE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM THE DISTRICT OFFICE.  UNTIL YOU NOTIFY THE OFFICE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL SEWER BILL, NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED.  E-mail SWLMCD.CONNECT@yahoo.com

IF YOU ARE BUILDING A NEW HOME, OR RELOCATING WHERE YOUR PUMP CONNECTS TO YOUR HOUSE, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LINE INSPECTED BEFORE BURYING.  IF NOT, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO RETRENCH THE LINE SO AN INSPECTION CAN TAKE PLACE.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
