Introduction to this site

The South-west Lake Maxinkuckee Conservancy District was established for the purpose of collection, treatment, and disposal of sewage and other liquid wastes as provided under Indiana Code 14-33-1-1 (5). Many of your Lake Maxinkuckee neighbors have worked very hard to establish this conservancy district to benefit the lake we all love.

This site will try to answer many of your questions and keep everyone apprised of the progress involved during the construction of the sewer lines. If you do not find your specific answer here, please contact the District Coordinator at SWLMCD.connect@yahoo.com or by calling 574-400-5450. You may write to SWLMCD at P.O. Box 56, Culver, IN 46511.

PUMPS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PICK-UP

NOTICE  – The District is now live on Indiana 811 and the grinder pumps are available for pick-up.  The contractor must have all required paperwork on file with the District and the property owner’s easement information must also be on file.  Any applicable checks must be either in-hand or presented upon pump pick-up before a pump can be released.    Call 574-400-5450 to make an appointment to pick-up a pump.  NOTE:  These pumps come with an 8 foot pit, cable, and a control box.  They require either two people or at least a dolly to move and load.

Project Update (January, 2012)

The District was confirmed as active with Indiana 811 locator services in late December of 2011.  Call before you dig!

Pumps were released for pick-up as of December 27,2012.

All properties must be hooked-up to the new system by October 2012.

Please go to the FAQ tab for all information on billing and costs involved with this project.  Each property owner should have in their possession a letter that outlines two ways they may cover their capital costs, either by paying upfront or by allowing for an exceptional benefits tax to go into effect in 2012.  The exceptional benefits tax is not the same as the special benefits tax that was in effect in 2011 and will also be in effect in 2012.
