If your pump alarm goes off, you must first call the following number: at 574-250-8533.
Thomas Excavating has replaced Astbury as the repair contact person for the South-West Lake Maxinkuckee Conservancy District. If your pump is broken and cannot be fixed on site, a replacement pump will be installed in its place.
You should be aware that pump warranties have ended, or are nearing their end, for most of the SWLMCD customers. If you require service, please call the number above and a replacement pump will be installed until your’s can be repaired.
USING THE SYSTEM – To avoid blockages and damage to the pump, the following items should NOT be placed into the system:
Glass, metal, gravel, sand, coffee grinds, seafood shells, socks, rags or cloths, plastic sanitary napkins or tampons, disposable diapers, kitty litter, explosives, flammable materials, lubricating oil, grease, cooking oil, paint, strong chemicals, gasoline or diesel, stormwater runoff.
WHEN YOU LEAVE FOR THE WINTER! Please flush the pump with at least 45 gallons of fresh, clean water by filling a bathtub and then letting it drain. The pump should activate when the tub is draining. Do this at least twice.
Don’t forget to keep your control box locked to prohibit tampering.
IF YOU ARE TAKING DOWN YOUR HOUSE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM THE DISTRICT OFFICE. UNTIL YOU NOTIFY THE OFFICE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL SEWER BILL, NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED. E-mail SWLMCD.CONNECT@yahoo.com
IF YOU ARE BUILDING A NEW HOME, OR RELOCATING WHERE YOUR PUMP CONNECTS TO YOUR HOUSE, YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LINE INSPECTED BEFORE BURYING. IF NOT, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO RETRENCH THE LINE SO AN INSPECTION CAN TAKE PLACE. NO EXCEPTIONS!
All Contractors must first post a Permit & License Bond for $10,000 as well as name the South-West Lake Maxinkuckee Conservancy District on a Certificate of Insurance. Both of these documents will be needed before receiving a permit to hook-up any property owner and should be furnished to Kathy Clark, Operations Manager at p.o.box 56, Culver, IN 46511.
The forms and the steps to hook-up are posted below as well as the installation information for the sewer laterals:
